Paint Colors

Finally the lease is up. The move-in date is finalized. We should be in by May 1st! Now we are onto picking colors and painting.

Glidden: Quiet Rain
Pale blue - gray. All said and done, I don't I like it. Will there be time to re-paint? I hope so.

Ralph Lauren: Crab Apple

Hardest part of painting is picking the colors. Here is Stan He like the color. He is also trying to convince me that I like it too.

Trim, Trim, and more Trim

Haven't updated in awhile. Things are finally starting to come together. Below is some pics of the trim. We decided to coat it with lynseed oil. No stain used. In the pics it looks good. Up close you can still see that there is much more work to be done. I am thinking that it can wait ...

Getting ready for lawn care...

Got a new Honda mower, Husqvarna trimmer, and Stihl blower. I got all the tools and absolutely no know-how. Hey but I look the part!

New Floors!

Finally feel like the house is coming together. The hardwood floors went in this week. They need a few days to cure. So - we got the weekend off! Did not step foot into 5020 Grayson this weekend. Hopefully we will be rejuvenated for the last push to get it all done before move-in.

Stan working hard to prep the floors for installation. His hard work saved us $800. Only took him 2 days :)

"Like - New" Bath Tub

1920's tub found at a local salvage shop. Refinished to look new again.

No real good before shot. But notice, the sink and toilet. Decided to go with rounded edges to match the tub.

After

Last push before the floors arrive...

Last weekend before the new floors were to be installed. Got off work on Friday and the work began. I think we logged about 25 hours on the house. Not fun! What have we gotten ourselves into?

1130PM, Sunday night. Tearing up the protective paper... I cried. Not sure how we will fix this.

Bedroom. Wood treated with linseed oil
Wood stained with linseed oil tinted with Red mahogany stain.
Wood waiting to be installed.

3 Months Later

3 months into our "little project." Lots of hours, lots of sweat, and a few tears (who know you could cry over a toilet?). And here is where we are now. Up next ... patching, sanding, staining, painting, and hopefully installing new floors.
Sunny Seattle Day!
